Fairest of the Fair

The Fairest of the Fair competition will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m. at Gillett High School in the auditorium. The competition is open to the public.

The Oconto County Youth Fair is excited to announce that there are four candidates for
the 2024 Oconto County Fairest of the Fair. Here is a brief introduction to each of the
candidates:

Kathryn Raddatz is a senior at Oconto Falls High School. Her parents are Teresa and Nathan Raddatz. She is a member of Christy Brook 4-H Club. She is also involved in a number of school activities including: Student Council, Art Club, National Honor Society, Kindness Committee, Basketball, Volleyball, and Track. Her sponsor is Crowned Holsteins and Jerseys, Gillett.

Georgia Gerndt is a senior at Suring High School, and is the daughter of Sarah and Wes School and Craig Gerndt. She is a member of Northern Riders 4-H, Suring FFA, National Honor Society, Student Council, Hi-Q, the Tutoring Program, Cross Country, Basketball, and Track. Her sponsor is North Branch Logging Enterprises of Suring.

Grace Seefeldt graduated from Lena High School, where she was a member of Lena FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society, and Cheerleading; along with being a manager for Wrestling and Baseball. She is now a freshman at South Dakota State University and is a member of the Pre-Vet Club, Colligate Cattlemen’s, and Agriculture LLC. She is the daughter of Dale and Becky Seefeldt. She is sponsored by Jagiello Dairy Farm, LLC of Lena.

Amber Seitz is a senior at Pulaski High School. Her parents are Mark and Cindy Seitz. She is a current member of Pulaski FFA, along with participating in Leo Club, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Marching Band, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northeastern Wisconsin. Her sponsor is Sievert Dairy Farm, Sobieski.

The Oconto County Fairest/Ambassador program is an important part of the Oconto County Youth Fair.  While its main goal is to promote the fair throughout the county, it also strives to provide an educational opportunity to the Fairest/Ambassador and the Attendant.  This is accomplished by providing leadership, communication, and networking activities to the participants.  These skills are needed to become a well-rounded member of society.

The Oconto County Youth Fair Board is pleased to announce that applications for the 2024 Fairest of the Fair/Fair Ambassador are now available. We are looking for residents of Oconto County who are interested in serving as representatives for the 2024 fair. Through the competition, either a Fairest of the Fair or a Fair Ambassador (female or male representative), and an Attendant (first runner-up) will be named.

These two individuals will represent the fair at a variety of events throughout the year.

A $1,000 scholarship/stipend and $300 expense allowance will be awarded to the individual named the Fairest of the Fair/Fair Ambassador.

A $500 scholarship/stipend and $300 expense allowance will be awarded to the Attendant.

The competition will take place in May, 2024. Individuals must be 18 years of age by January 1, 2025 to apply. Interested individuals need to apply by April 1, 2024, by submitting a completed application and sponsor fee.
